The University of Genoa's Department of Anthropological Sciences is divided into four sections: sociology, psychology, anthropology and ethnology. The staff is involved in education as well as research activities and evaluation analysis.

The Department of Anthropological Sciences is developing a way of evaluating the impact of AquaRing, both for its users and for the science centres, museums and aquariums which supply its content.
